A Dutch flying car company, Pal-V, has unveiled 2 commercial flying cars, the first of their kind in the world.
The Liberty Pioneer and the Liberty Sport, the first commercial flying cars in the world, are here!
“After years of hard work, beating the technical and qualification challenges, our team succeeded in creating an innovative flying car that complies with existing safety standards determined by regulatory bodies around the world!” says a delighted Robert Dingemanse, CEO of PAL-V.
Now the company are focusing on fulfilling its first client orders. Incredibly, these magnificent flying (and driving) machines are fully compliant with existing regulations, making “the first product delivery date realistic and imminent”.
According to its makers, the latest model “has a distinct Italian flair”, having been designed in the country, and “the lowered suspension and tilting “cockpit” adds to the sports car feel on the road”.
What’s not to love?
“Later in 2017 we will start building a preproduction series followed by the manufacturing of the first PAL-V Liberty’s for our early ‘pioneer’ clients. Deliveries of road and air certificated models are scheduled by the end of 2018. This truly is a pivotal time in aviation and mobility history,” adds Dingemanse.
“Now that the new design is public I expect to see great interest from customers that have waited for the flying car era to start,”
Mr. J Bond, Mr. J. Bourne, and Mr and Mrs Smith will doubtless be making the pre-order list.
Is it us, or does it look a teeny tiny bit like the Sinclair C5? With a gigantic helicopter blade on top. If only he’d known.
