London Blockchain Week is already in full swing! It all kicked off with the “Hack the Block” Hackathon at Launch 22 on Friday, with teams of devs and ents attempting to apply Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) to help either “unlock Blockchain for municipal and citizenship services”, or “use Blockchain for financial inclusion in internal remittances”.
The third annual Blockchain Conference will span 2 days this year, with tickets priced at £570 (including VAT) for a one day pass, or £1,140 for both days. Each day is crammed full of keynotes, panel discussions, fireside chats, networking opportunities and competitions, plus many of the industry’s finest practitioners, as you’d expect.
It all takes place at the Grange Tower Bridge Hotel – attend if you’d like to hear from corporates like BT, PwC and the Royal Bank of Scotland, agencies like the World Economic Forum, Blockchain Ecosystem Network and the Institute for Creative Entrepreneurship, charities including Save The Children, startups such as “Blockchain For The Entreprise” Tymlez and Ripple Labs, VCs including Balderton Capital, Day One Investments and Crowdfunders Crowdcube.
It doesn’t end there, either (that’s why they call it Blockchain Week! Ed). Fans of Fintech who “would like a deeper dive into Blockchain / DLT” are invited to attend events at Cocoon Networks, where some of the topics covered will include Smart Contracts, Ethereum and Bigchain DB.
Confused? Excited? Now’s your chance to discover everything about Blockchain, Bitcoin, alternative finance, and what is, has, and will trend in this fascinating, disruptive, space that is having a very real impact on the way we move money around and track it, that you have always wanted to know but were too afraid to ask.
It’s all about alternative finance this week!
